Granelito is a hard-won journey to bring our love and strength to the world, community and self.
Our focus is on quality materials, comfort and bright designs. Our mission is to provide positive forms of nurture through careful consideration in materials, labor practices and an open-ended approach towards gender.
Part of starting Granelito was to fulfill our desire to make sustainable and ethical clothing. On this we will not compromise and we are committed to continually figure out new solutions to become more sustainable.
All of our cotton garments are made from 100% organic Pima cotton grown in the northern coast of Peru in Piura. Due to its extra long fibers, Pima cotton is more durable than conventional cotton.
We work directly with our cut and sew factory in Lima, Peru who work directly with the companies growing the cotton, knitting our fabrics and dying and printing our designs.
This year we started to use compostable mailers from Noissue. Furthermore we are using as little packaging material as possible. Our newborn gift baskets, that are made by hand in Peru in the homes of the artisans, are reusable and eventually compostable.
All our garments are unisex. We don’t see a reason to divide our collections into two genders. This way it’s also easier to share a wardrobe between siblings, cousins, friends and other kids in need of clothes. Our hope is we all buy fewer new garments and share more.
We encourage you to buy our clothes in bigger sizes so your kid can use them longer. Not only is it adorable to see oversized garments on kids, but it’s also fun to see them grow into the clothes and how the fit changes over time.
If you have ideas how we can become more sustainable, please let us know and share your knowledge. We as a society and within the industry should inspire each other.
Join us as we grow and play with colors and designs while taking on the important task of ethical and sustainable fashion.
